Happy Fat Tuesday | Mardi Gras 2017

For some of the best people watching ever, plan your visit around our Mardi Gras season. On Fat Tuesday, you will see so many residents wandering the streets in dramatic colors of purple, green, and gold. Beyond people watching and parades passing by, we have some of the best food during Mardi Gras season. King Cake will sure turn your head and not to mention, we are in the prime time season of crawfish!

Here is a brief summary of the meaning “Fat” Tuesday …

In Louisiana, we celebrate Mardi Gras season.  It is a popular cultural experience, but its roots trace back to eating richer, fatty foods in preparation for Lenten fasting on “Fat” Tuesday before Ash Wednesday.

Happy Fat Tuesday everyone, “Laissez les bon temps rouler”!

**stay tuned for my lent series coming up with The Catholic Co.

Hey Peeps! I'm Kacie, a 30 something year old dreamer with a love of all things. I'm a shy and very quiet girl from Louisiana. I grew up on a farm in the middle of watermelon fields and dirt roads. However, it was in the middle of those roads where my journey began as a child. I would like to think that I can always return to where I’m from when life is overwhelming. I enjoy baking, gardening, eating, photography, & all things country-related. I’m also a cradle Catholic who enjoys learning more about Catholicism. God has put my Faith to the test on several different occasions throughout my life. I’m a caregiver to my mother and this is where starting a blog began.
