White After Labor Day

myth #1 – no white after Labor Day  …

Who made the rule: No white after Labor Day? Not only is white humbling in the Spring season, but white lace in the winter is so crisp and spotless at a holiday party. A girl can never regret investing in white lace, no matter what season it is.

myth #2 – long maxi skirts do not fit all body types…

I beg to differ! A long skirt constructed from silk or wool that has a slit detail on the left leg compliments all body types. The slit on the side shows that a body does exist under all that material and gives it flare.

myth 3 – The way to flatter the body is to always emphasize the waistline …

Yes, it is true that accentuating your waist illustrates a middle division and draws attention to the smallest part of your body, but I do not feel it is the only technique to flatter oneself. To me, it’s all about balance but we will get to those details a little later on some upcoming post.

In the meantime, please check out Jocelyn Phillips Photography. You can click on the link below and see all of her beautiful work. She is a lovely photographer ( and also a lovely friend of mine!) If you are considering holiday portraits now is the time to book with her.

As far as, no white after Labor Day … Wear what you love. Love what you wear.

Hey Peeps! I'm Kacie, a 30 something year old dreamer with a love of all things. I'm a shy and very quiet girl from Louisiana. I grew up on a farm in the middle of watermelon fields and dirt roads. However, it was in the middle of those roads where my journey began as a child. I would like to think that I can always return to where I’m from when life is overwhelming. I enjoy baking, gardening, eating, photography, & all things country-related. I’m also a cradle Catholic who enjoys learning more about Catholicism. God has put my Faith to the test on several different occasions throughout my life. I’m a caregiver to my mother and this is where starting a blog began.
