Steel Magnolia Cemetery Tour

I feel like I’m always complaining of time and the wifi restrictions at my house that make me have limited access to blog but it’s the honest truth! I have the best intentions of starting to keep my blog up-to-date and journalling about cancer, fashion and faith but seriously life just keeps happening! While travel ball is still in full swing, I have had to opportunity to “sight-see” a tad with my left fielder.

If this old cemetery doesn’t ring a bell to you, maybe the name of this movie will. I’m sure you have all heard of the movie called “Steel Magnolias”. It was filmed right here in Louisiana and lucky for me, we play in the same city where the movie was filmed. This old cemetery took part of the filming when Julie Roberts passed away and Sally Fields had her melt down. A little known fact about this cemetery is that it is one of the oldest cemeteries in Louisiana. The property of the home is also a bed and breakfast where you can stay and tour the rest of the classic movie. One of these days I’m going to get my girlfriends together and make it into a weekend escape but for now I’m soaking up the memories with my son and giving him a little history along the way. Also, to see him point out the dates of babies and children back in the day that have passed away made him realize how good his generation is today.

Here is the link to the bed and breakfast if you are ever interested in staying and going on the Steel Magnolia tour…

Hey Peeps! I'm Kacie, a 30 something year old dreamer with a love of all things. I'm a shy and very quiet girl from Louisiana. I grew up on a farm in the middle of watermelon fields and dirt roads. However, it was in the middle of those roads where my journey began as a child. I would like to think that I can always return to where I’m from when life is overwhelming. I enjoy baking, gardening, eating, photography, & all things country-related. I’m also a cradle Catholic who enjoys learning more about Catholicism. God has put my Faith to the test on several different occasions throughout my life. I’m a caregiver to my mother and this is where starting a blog began.
