Project Update: Ovarian Cancer Advocates

I am currently working on several different projects, catching up on overdue post but most importantly trying to spend as much time as I can with family. On a more serious business note today, I want to share something I’m working on with CTCA and my mom. Her story will be featured soon along with my link to my blog as the newest CTCA advocate. I couldn’t be more excited about this opportunity. I never would have thought I would be a part of the cancer fighter team, or to be with my mom as an advocate and to help others along their cancer journey. I can’t explain how that makes this small town girl feel.

Survival rate can go up significantly if it’s diagnosed and treated early. However, I feel like with my mom, God truly worked a miracle within her.

From the moment my mom was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, I went through an entire range of emotions. As a caregiver to her, I didn’t know where to begin, I wanted to help her but didn’t know how, I didn’t know what to do, what to say. As an advocate now, I want to help those caregivers. I want to spend time and talking to you. I want to be a good listener, it doesn’t have to be a long conversation but just being there for someone over the phone, through a blog, an email or text is just as important. If you hate talking about cancer has much as I did in the beginning, we can always talk about fashion instead! 😉
I hope I can inspire you the best I can by giving honest and accurate information. I know through my own experience of what to do, what not to do and the resources we were given.

I hope I can meet all your needs when it comes to ovarian cancer.
Here is a sneak peek at whats to come.

I’m so proud of my mom. One of the things I love what she wrote was:

“the milestone I have reached in life is just being able to live another day. No other milestone is important to me than realizing I’m making my own milestones in life now”

Wow what a super hero she is!

Xoxo – love your mothers,
