Down South On The Creole Nature Trail

What is a best friend to you? Maybe it someone you can tell anything too and can trust your entire heart and soul with. Maybe it’s those types of friends who you can be crazy and laugh with that pass no judgments with you in any way, shape or form. These are what friends are to me. I’m really proud to say I have such sweet and wholesome friends to spend my days and nights with. I love the fact we can go on a camping trip and when asked what we are doing, in response I get: I don’t know: “how about going to Mass Saturday afternoon”. Or how we can all sit and watch Steel Magnolias and have no problem crying our eyes out (I have such a love/hate relationship with Sally Field) infront of each other.

I love that my friendship consist on these beautiful girls. If you have friends that put you down, are jealous of you or find yourself with less confidence when you are around them, those are not the type of people you need in your life.

Ok, so another brief post I wanted to share over the weekend was the creole nature trail we hiked on. The Creole Nature Trail overlooks the endless marsh lands down in Hackberry, La. The nature lover in me was in pure paradise this weekend. Although, many may not think it is much to be the middle of marsh lands surrounded by water, several different bird and insects, but I found it very peaceful and relaxing. However, even in the mist of trying to do something for myself, I don’t think I’ll ever get my mom out of my head. That is why I love the feeling I had at the top of the lookout point. I just wanted to throw my hands in the air and thank God for the blessings in my life. The only thing I wish is that I had more time like this to feel at peace but that will only add another thing to my February bucket list.

Xoxo – love your mothers

Hey Peeps! I'm Kacie, a 30 something year old dreamer with a love of all things. I'm a shy and very quiet girl from Louisiana. I grew up on a farm in the middle of watermelon fields and dirt roads. However, it was in the middle of those roads where my journey began as a child. I would like to think that I can always return to where I’m from when life is overwhelming. I enjoy baking, gardening, eating, photography, & all things country-related. I’m also a cradle Catholic who enjoys learning more about Catholicism. God has put my Faith to the test on several different occasions throughout my life. I’m a caregiver to my mother and this is where starting a blog began.

  1. I think it looks like a gorgeous place! There was a little lookout over a lake in Alberta that I felt the same way. Just at peace and thankful and close to my mom!

Those places always stick with you. Thanks for sharing friend! I’m glad you had a great weekend.
