Closet/Office Space: The Vision Board

Hey everyone! I hope you all got to enjoy the sunshine wherever you were this past weekend.

I don’t know if it’s because I have had many sleepless nights but I have the remodeling and renovation bone BAD! So I have completely started a super fun project for myself and the first room I’m starting with is my walk-in closet/office space. Since I developed a new love for journalling , I decided that I needed a space just for myself to cram all my thoughts and then I thought well, why not organize all my pictures, jewelry, clothes, books, scarfs, make up and shoes while I’m at it!!

Growing up, I use to always come home after school and find everything re-arranged and every nick-knack of my mother’s valuables would have a spot. EVERYTHING! My room would be perfectly assorted and every pillow would be fluffed. Thankfully, the apple didn’t fall far from the tree and I’ve developed the same trait as my mother, (Thanks mum) with the exception that I’m a little more OCD. Like seriously!

So first thing first …. picking out the right wall color and where to start with your theme. There is something about the color pink that refreshes my soul. Maybe because it’s my mom’s favorite color and thinking of her is a breath of fresh air, for me. I normally would have never went for the color pink as a wall color, I tend to stay more on the Earth tones myself but that is a different room for a different day, or should I say a horse of a different color. And – are you aware of how many shades of pink there are out there? You can only imagine my excitement as I was choosing the color. WOW! I went with a color called Apple Blossom from Sherwin Williams, I didn’t want something that said: “ew gross, look at that Pepto Bismol room”. These lighter shades of Plaster Pink and Barely Blush are my favorite too.

Next, I like to start with a certain item and build up from there. Obvious reasons with myself I have started with pictures of my mom. I want to create a space that I can just get lost in but at the same time that holds all of my favorite memories so beautifully.

Once again I hope to inspire you, encourage you to get organized, to give you tips on what I find helpful for organization but most importantly to create a little personal space for yourself, your thoughts and your prayers. I know as much as I like to buy new things, the truth is, I really enjoy making something old, something new again and if you are like me most of the time I have nothing to wear and by the end of my hunt for the perfect outfit the rest of my closet ends up on the floor in the process. I know…. I know … where else are you supposed to put it all after nothing fits!?

Here is what I have started with and I encourage you to try this idea for your first step of organization: a vision board for my inspiration office/closet space… A vision board for me is the first step on staying organized. Back in da day when I worked out, I had a cork board with all kinds of work out tips, pictures of clothes I wanted, a work out route and beautiful models that inspired me. If you’re not looking for a closet/office space vision board like myself, maybe you’re building a home or have some really great Thanksgiving recipes or planning your next dinner party. Try it! I promise you wont regret working on your next vision board. I also think a vision board would be great for a bible study group. I mean seriously nothing is better than starting something out on your next board. You will feel achieved before the decorating even begins!! If you are currently using a board, I would love to know what your visions are too!!

Hey Peeps! I'm Kacie, a 30 something year old dreamer with a love of all things. I'm a shy and very quiet girl from Louisiana. I grew up on a farm in the middle of watermelon fields and dirt roads. However, it was in the middle of those roads where my journey began as a child. I would like to think that I can always return to where I’m from when life is overwhelming. I enjoy baking, gardening, eating, photography, & all things country-related. I’m also a cradle Catholic who enjoys learning more about Catholicism. God has put my Faith to the test on several different occasions throughout my life. I’m a caregiver to my mother and this is where starting a blog began.
