I’m finding myself enjoying the Louisiana culture a lot more than I use too. The food and the local attractions just make it all that more enjoyable for a blogger. Anna and I certainly had a great time snapping these pictures a long side a classic diner in Leesville, La. We didn’t know it at the time, but the building were colored in Christmas greens and reds, which made for this Christmas post extra special! I must say I’m excited for a new year, a fresh start and new adventures in the great state of Louisiana.
I originally was saving this look for another post, but since I didn’t get an occasion to wear it, I decided to wear it for this Christmas shoot and I’m so glad I did!
I absolutely love an A-line dress or skirt. They really bring out a women’s waistline and when pairing them with the right accessories and colors you can really put yourself together with sophistication. I paired a simple red turtleneck (which really made the skirt pop) and a black pair of heels with the look.
Since an A-line skirt was this choice of statement piece I chose with to wear. I decided to go with an off color pair of stockings. Layering different fabrics creates an alluring element of mystery, while a few accessories add a confident kick.
For me, this entire shoot was screamed vintage old lady chic. And I’m certainly ok with that.
Don’t ever be afraid to play dress up or mismatch certain items together. Valentine’s day is around the corner so for subtle sexiness, cinch those waist lines with an A-line skirt or dress this season and get to mismatching for loads of class!
I honestly can’t remember where I ordered this skirt from but I know there are tons of after Christmas sales happening right now. The Nordstrom sale is going on. Dillards will also be having their annual New Years sale | red turtleneck is from JC Penny’s | Heels and Stockings Dillards | Purse Burberry
