Did you know that Louisiana has more than 400 festivals throughout the state! Festival season runs year round in Louisiana and I’m using up any excuse I can to kick up my heels for some great fun! Louisiana celebrates just about anything and everything from delicious cuisine to great Cajun music!
A new chapter that I would like to introduce to ParadiseRoads is highlighting Louisiana festivals. I’m starting with the ‘BeauFair’ as this is my hometown.
The ‘Beauregard Parish fair kicks off on a Tuesday with a parade and ends on Saturday night with a small town community atmosphere. The theme of the fair is usually based around agriculture for it’s many delicious corps. The week of the Beauregard fair is filled with activities, from arts-and-crafts to exhibits that take home first place ribbons. Once you worked up an appetite, you have to visit a few of my favorite food booths. Refreshing lemonade, funnel cakes, and caramel apples are just to name a few of my favorite fair goodies. Of course the typical local booths, such as the hamburgers from the Kiwanis club and the french fries from the Lions Club, but no other famous booth tops it off, other than the American Legion ice cream booth. On a hot October day, there’s no better way to cool off than with an ice cream sandwich. If you’re feeling extra hungry grab another as they are only a buck!
